Krewe du Pooch is a Mardi Gras dog parade & costume contest on the lakefront in Mandeville, LA. It includes a marketplace, food trucks &, of course, pet adoptions from local rescue groups, who are supported through the non-profit’s mission. Hosted by the city of Mandeville & Krewe du Pooch, the annual event sees thousands of people & pups pack the lakefront for this day long paw-ty.
During the 2024 Mardi Gras season, over 40 dogs were adopted out via pre-parade adoption events, day-of & post-parade adoptions. This in addition to funds raised to help the rescue groups made the 2024 parade a huge success!
Emcee Kenny Lopez along with celebrity judges Trishelle Canatella, Terrance Osborne & Desi Vega awarded prizes to the costume contest winners following the parade. Families enjoyed the children’s area sponsored by the Children’s Museum of St. Tammany Parish, Keep Mandeville Beautiful & the St. Tammany Parish Library. Boogie Booth provided an on site photo booth for pictures & gifs as well as a cool option using their virtual photo booth to add a cute frame to any other photo you’d snapped yourself. The VIP tent looked beautiful with florals provided by Berry Blossom Flowers & mixed drinks compliments of Geaux Mobile Bar & Raising Cane’s.
