Jillian & Rahul hosted a three day wedding at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Each day they hosted a hospitality suite with meals for guests staying at the hotel. The first day also featured a Hare Krishna sacred thread ceremony & sangeet. The second day started with a Sindhi ceremony followed by the Sikh Anand Karaj & dinner. Finally, the third day focused more on Jillian’s family with a Catholic ceremony & Western reception.
Working with both local & out-of-state vendors, we had many custom built & designed elements for their guests. Jillian & Rahul loved the idea of circles and seating in the round so we incorporated elements of that throughout the weekend including a custom 360 bar with circular barback which was designed to have a hidden trash receptacle in the base. We used the same elongated 360 shape as the bar in the Saturday night floorplan as well as seating in the round for the Sikh ceremony.
All of the signage, graphics and vinyl were custom pieces, as were the shoe shelves for the guests’ convenience along with head wrap station at the Anand Karaj. We provided mirrors with safety pins, bobby pins in various colors, head wraps for both men & women and even socks to anticipate any of our guest’s needs.
For the final day of the celebration, custom cannoli boxes were made to facilitate performers creating cannoli on demand for guests as they walked around the Western reception. This night also featured some of Jillian & Rahul’s other favorite foods such as In & Out burgers, lobster rolls, risotto in a parmesan wheel & Drago’s famous chargrilled oysters.
The most surprising part was that they hired us at the beginning of April for their wedding at the end of July/first of August! Jillian’s father was being deployed overseas so they wanted to get married prior to him leaving. With all hands on deck, the Alchemy Events staff, our incredible vendors & these two dedicated families worked together to pull of an incredible wedding weekend celebrating this multi-cultural union.
