When COVID made a full Indian wedding in New Orleans impossible, we pivoted with this couple to plan an intimate Shaadi in Denver instead — complete with COVID testing for guests and a livestream so family in India could join the celebration in real time. A Hindu-Muslim Fusion Wedding Featured in Maharani Weddings
This New Orleans Indian wedding blended Hindu and Muslim traditions for a couple celebrating both Indian and Bangladeshi heritage. In a striking departure from tradition, the bride rode her own horse into the Baraat procession, a custom usually reserved for the groom. The celebration’s color palette wove together traditional peacock hues with a nod to New Orleans’ own Mardi Gras colors, at the Riverview Room overlooking the Mississippi River.
